Another new venue for us in the Newcastle area.
Club Macquarie is situated at the northern tip of the stunning Lake Macquarie.
Jason Jagos the ever present Newcastle based Soundy was set up early as usual, getting to the gig in the late afternoon setting up is his casual and measured way, never in a rush, has all the time in the world.
The band made the trek up the freeway, we were set up & and sound checked with time enough for a nice meal in the downstairs bistro.
The bass player Jason Smith was sick as a dog ( before he arrived ) with the flu – and uttered through a sandpaper voice in true professional style – sorry guys, I woke up yesterday so ill, but against my wife’s insistence there was no way in hell I was going to cancel on you guys and give the band a problem.
WHAT A PRO – thankyou my man – the show must go on!
We had the personable Bruno Gerace on guitar, Aiden Danser on Keys and Alexi Pigot on drums.
The room at Club Macquarie was quite a big space that looks only half full unless there are 200 people in it.
It was a rainy old night in the suburb of Argenton and we had less than 200, but we still perform the same as if we’re playing to a festival crowd, we just rock out and have fun.
We even took requests and did a killer version of Pink Floyds – Comfortably Numb with a stinging solo by Bruno.
I’m sure it’s the first time we’ve played that in this line up.
We try to please the punters when we can.
Here’s a wee clip from Alexie the drummers cam during ‘I see Red’ – check out the lightshow!
