What Makes a Great tribute band?

Why would a Tribute band be considered the best Sydney Crowded House Tribute?
What is it that makes people say that?
Is it the sound, the look, the vibe, the entertainment value?

I believe the factors that make a great tribute band are not simply JUST a good voice or sound.
When you think about it there are plenty of great singers everywhere, I mean most bars have singers that do a good job, that sing the right songs and get people dancing.

But is that enough?
What makes you remember a band as different to the rest of the bands you see?

We all remember one or 2 great nights seeing an awesome band with friends, but I believe what helps to make a band really stand out are other factors besides just the sound.

Afterall with covers music – many bands perform the same pub hits which is fine as that is the job at hand. And of course, a tribute band will be compared to other tribute bands.

Some venues will compare on price – but ultimately the punters will indicate who is preferred by ticket sales and by feedback given, and by perhaps how much they spend on drinks etc.
