Popular Sydney tribute bands are all the rage lately with venues wanting them as they tend to draw people in, more so that a regular covers band.
A tribute act is a music group, singer, or musician who specifically plays the music of a well-known music act – sometimes one which has disbanded, ceased touring or is deceased.
Probably the largest class of tribute bands in NSW are Elvis impersonators, individual performers who mimic the songs and style of Elvis Presley. However, most tribute bands are bands doing a tribute to a group.
Popular Sydney Tribute bands have really increased in numbers recently, as not only does the music sound like the real thing, the musicians also look and act like the real thing too!
A great tribute band will have carefully and precisely studied the look and movements along with their sound to give the audience the closest thing possible to seeing the real band at a fraction of the cost.
With a tribute band you get to hear the bands or artist’s greatest work as the tribute’s set list consists of all the hits of the people they imitate.
Some of the best tribute acts sound more like the bands’ original lineups than the actual band does these days — which is one of the main reasons they’re so popular.
The most popular Sydney tribute bands are the bands that:
Usually have a wide appeal.
That appeal to a wide audience demographic.
Are or were Australian based bands.
That are costumed.
Are often bands that were popular in the 80’s in Australia.
Crowded House are an Australian based band that also did very well internationally.
Whilst they don’t rock like INXS – their appeal is wide – it’s very melodic pop.
The Crowdies Show is a tribute Crowded House & Split Enz.
Popular with Aussies & kiwis – so we go especially well where Kiwis are well populated like the Gold Coast.
The Crowdies show has played all over NSW & internationally, having been flown to NZ by a Australian Company for an annual high achievers function.
Here’s what people say….
We’ve had The Crowdies Show at 4 of our major big stage events, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, and for Australia Day events on the main stage at Cronulla Beach, Parc Menai and Blaxland Oval.
You guys were fantastic at every event and very well received by all venues, looking forward to booking you again”

An awesome show! The Crowdies don’t just play the brilliant songs of Crowded House and Split Enz beautifully but also in the same spirit of humour and fun!! Really great entertainment which brought back lovely memories for me. Well done boys.
