Another ridiculously fun gig at our most regularly played Sydney venue in Baulkham Hills, the Bull n Bush Hotel.
We had a new young guitarist Andrew McLachlan with us – this kid can really play, he’s a music teacher at a local private Sydney College, and on the weekend he’s a mad dog guitarist with various outfits – tonight it was our turn.
We arrived late in the evening as it’s a late gig this one – 10pm-12.30am.
Kim Lovell is a fantastic manager and always treats us well.
The Baulkham hills folk prefer to wait until the witching hours before they let their hair down and get jiggy with it on the dance floor, suits us fine.
Its a nice load in – we can park out back and there’s an easy ramp to the back of the stage.
It’s another one of these classic Sydney venues somewhat purpose built for Live Entertainment back in the day 15 years ago when the venue had a makeover.
It’s actually a dream gig in many ways:
*Late start – the punters are well oiled before we even start which makes our job easier
*Easy load in and access
*And the best thing of all – sound production + operator and lighting is fully provided by the venue
This a real heartland rock n roll pub where live music is a main feature – they have a permanently installed sound and lighting rig which makes for a lightning quick set up for the band with a great experienced sound operator Tim.
The ever cheerful local photographer Raymond Hatcher is usually on hand filming endless clips and snapping loads of shots of the bands.
Raymond was in fine form tonight capturing a bunch of clips which he duly posted on our facebook page.
Another roaring night at the iconic Bull – see you in a few months you mad dogs!
