Formed by full time muso Tim Pringle in 2007. A New Zealander based in Australia since 1999. Tim performs regularly up to 17 shows per month as a full time solo and Duo act specialising in Weddings & Functions.
Tim thought it about time he formed a full 5 piece band to pay homage to two of New Zealand’s finest artists – The Finn Brothers. Having gathered a fine bunch of seasoned musos the band was formed and is now out and about gigging hopefully somewhere near you!
Lead vocals & Acoustic guitar – Tim Pringle
Originally from Auckland NZ, Tim has, in his time Tim has opened concerts for Kate Ceberano and Christine Anu… played shows with members of Tina Turner’s band, the Choirboys & Rose Tattoo… and performed live with Paul Kelly’s drummer, James Morrison’s violin player & Sting’s guitarist. Tim grew up in the land where the Finn brothers are treated like pop music God’s. Tim grew up listening to Split Enz and Crowded House and was first introduced as a child to Split Enz by a babysitter when watching the ‘I got You’ video clip who pointed out “look the picture on the wall is alive”! This video is etched in his mind and now he is proud to be the leader of a tribute band – not just any tribute band but a tribute to arguably two of NZ’s best pop bands in history!
Electric guitar – Troy Manson
One of the identical twins in the band – brother to Josh. These boys hail from one of Sydney’s most popular coves bands ‘Crash Avenue’ Together they have been playing across Australia for over 30 years, and have supported many iconic Australian bands from Grinspoon and Jimmy Barnes to Rose Tattoo and Mental As Anything.
Troy lives in The Shire and has two baby blonde daughters and a black puppy. He loves playing screaming guitar solos and pulling obscene Steel Panther faces. he’s a very crazy Snow Boarder and loves cheese cranskies.
Keyboards & Vocals – Gerard Masters
A Kiwi who has flown the coup and settled in Oz, Gerard is a well known keys player to the stars. Having toured with The Potbelleez, Pete Murray, Missy Higgins, Wendy Matthews, Lior,Wez Carr and The McClymonts to name a few. Also he is a highly accomplished Jazz player, session player and Solo – Duo – Band act in his own right. Known for wearing Superhero costumes and morph suits during Crowdies performances Gerard is basically the proverbial ‘wildman’. He loves the songs of Crowded House and Split Enz, having grown up on the Finn brothers in NZ.
Bass & Harmony Vocals – Josh Manson
Josh grew up in Sydney playing in various punk and rock bands with his twin brother. Together they have been playing together across Australia for over 30 years, and have supported many iconic Australian bands from Grinspoon and Jimmy Barnes to Rose Tattoo and Mental As Anything. Growing up in the 80’s Josh was significantly influenced by the musical brilliance of the Finn Brothers and is proud to sharing this experience with new and old audiences in the Crowdies.
When not playing music Josh is being a hubby and proud Dad to 5 children in Sydney’s beautiful Kurnell. Josh is a very keen bird watcher and can talk your ears off for hours about native Australian birds. His all time favourite bird being the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.
Drums – Paul Novosel
from Perth, Paul moved to Sydney in 2000 and has since toured with leading Pop and Country music artists such as Leah Haywood, Melinda Schneider, Adam Brand, Adam Harvey, and Michael Carr. Paul has also performed with artists such as Billy Thorpe, Kasey Chambers, Alex Lloyd, Eugene “Hideaway” Bridges, Paul Jones (Manfred Mann), and Harry Hookey. He is currently active in the Australian Country Music scene playing drums regularly for Chelsea Basham, Bill Chambers, and Catherine Britt. Paul is also an accomplished recording engineer. As a boy, Paul learnt to play drums by playing along to records which included Crowded House’s Temple Of Low Men. A huge admirer of Hessie, Paul is excited to be part of the Crowdies Show paying tribute to not only one of the most exciting and musical drummers Australia has known but also one of the finest pop bands of our time.
